Search engine marketing (SEM) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or web pages in the organic search results. This can be done by improving the content and keywords (for sites), and by investing in ads (for sites) on search engines. 

There are also some other factors that play a role in the success of search engine marketing, and these include whether the site/page has been approved by the search engines, social links (for sites) and page content.

It is worth noting that search engine marketing is a subset of marketing. It is similar to SEO, but SEO does not use paid ads, so search engine marketing is the subset of SEO that includes paid ads. The main difference between SEM and SEO is that SEM involves the use of paid ads on search engines, while SEO relies on natural results. What is the difference between SEO and SEM? 

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) SEM is not in itself a marketing tool. SEO, on the other hand, is a marketing tool. It allows companies to promote their business for free (or with a small amount of money) by improving their ranking on search engine results pages.

The main goal of SEO is to improve a website’s rank on the major search engines, namely Google, Bing and Yahoo. This can be done by optimizing the site using a number of techniques, for example; By writing relevant content on the website. 

By including relevant keywords in the text. By organizing the content, so that the most relevant information appears in the top.

Web design includes a number of elements like: Logo design, Colour and font style. And, to some extent, it depends on whether you hire a web designer or if you create your own. This means that web design and SEO go hand in hand, and they are similar to some degree. 

For example, you cannot expect the logo and font to be used correctly on your website, if you did not hire a professional web designer. SEM versus social media SEM is very similar to social media marketing, but these do have some differences. 

This is because social media is more about the promotion of the page in the social networks and through posts, while search engine marketing has a different focus. SEM is more of a tactic and less of a marketing
